YESS is a short, mobile-friendly assessment that helps youth sports teams understand and improve their sustainability practices. It is designed to collect team-level information, not to track or evaluate individual athletes.

YESS collects two types of information:

A. Survey Responses (Non-Personal)
This includes information such as:

• Sport and team type

• General location (city, state, or country)

• Sustainability practices related to transportation, waste, energy, water, and climate readiness

These responses do not identify individual athletes.

B. Optional Contact Information (Personal)
If a respondent chooses to provide it, we may collect:

• Name

• Email address

Providing contact information is optional and is used only to share survey results, resources, or follow-up communications related to YESS.

YESS uses data to:

• Generate team sustainability scores and recommendations

• Analyze trends across sports, regions, and age groups

• Support research and reporting on sustainability in youth sports

• Improve the YESS tool and resources

Survey data is analyzed in grouped and anonymized form. YESS does not use data for advertising and does not sell personal information.

To reduce risk and protect privacy:

• Survey responses are stored separately from personal contact information

• Identifying information (such as name and email) is not required for analysis

• Data is accessed only by authorized YESS administrators

YESS uses standard, reputable third-party tools (such as Typeform, Zapier, and Google Workspace) to securely collect and manage data.

Access to raw data is limited to the YESS team and is used only for the purposes described above.

Aggregated, anonymized insights may be shared publicly or with partners, researchers, or organizations interested in improving sustainability in youth sports.

YESS retains data only as long as necessary to support analysis, reporting, and improvement of the program. Personal contact information can be removed upon request.

YESS is intended to be completed by a parent, coach, team manager, or other responsible adult on behalf of a youth sports team.
